   Doctor in Sociology, University Professor and Researcher, Ilie Bădescu is the Manager of the Institute of Sociology (Romanian Academy) since 2002. He has been actively dedicated to the revitalization of the research on social problems in rural Romania, establishing and coordinating within the Institute the Laboratory of Rural Studies. He is the author of numerous studies, handbooks, monographies, encyclopedias and sociology treatises.

   Researcher, PhD in Sociology, coordinator of the Laboratory "Violence and Crime. Mediation and Prevention ". Starting 2013, Ecaterina Balica is the representative for Romania of the COST ISCH 1206 Project Management Committee "Femicide across Europe". Is member of the Romanian Society of Criminology and Criminology (since 2007), member of the Scientific Committee of the Romanian Society of Criminology and Criminology (since 2013) and member of "International Association of Criminologists of Langue Française" - AICLF). Expertize in homicide-suicide, femicide, violent crime, justice.

   Professor at the University of Bucharest, Faculty of Journalism and Communication Sciences and researcher at the Institue of Sociology, Romanian Academy. She has published extensively on the media construction of public problems, political communication, and the public sphere. One of the prominent research projects she has coordinated examined the construction of migration in public discourses. She has been visiting professor at IEP Lyon, visiting researcher at Fondation Maison des Sciences de l’Homme within the programme DEA - Directeurs d’études associés (2015), and postdoctoral grantee of prestigious advanced research institutes (New Europe College, Bucharest; FMSH-EHESS-CNRS, Paris; University of Bologna).

   Graduate of Postdoctoral Studies of the National Defense University "Carol I", specialized in the theory of internal and international security. Lucian Dumitrescu is doctor in Philosophy and Sociology. He taught specialized courses at Master of Security Studies within Faculty of Sociology and Social Assistance, University of Bucharest, where he held the position of associate lecturer.

   Andreea Nicolaescu graduated in 1998 the Faculty of Sociology within the University of Bucharest and a year later the Master of Social Anthropology and Community Development within the same faculty. Since 1999 is member of the research team of the Institute of Sociology (Romanian Academy), currently working in the Research Laboratory Sociology of Organizations, Intervention in Enterprises and Social Dialogue.

   Researcher, Doctor in Sociology, expert in Community Studies and Societal Security, Adela Șerban is a member of the research team of the Institute of Sociology since 2004. She is a founder member and coordinator of the Research Laboratory on Social Theory and History of Sociology, where is dedicated to the study of community structure and social morphology.

   Mădălina Măndiță graduated in 2004 the Faculty of Sociology and Social Assistance within the University of Bucharest, and in 2006 the Master of Security Studies from the same institution. She is a member of the research team of the Institute of Sociology since 2009 and Doctor in Sociology since 2013. În 2015 graduated a post-doctoral internship in the Project "Pluri and interdisciplinarity in doctoral and postdoctoral programs".
